Getting to Tortuguero

Thank you for choosing to stay with us at Valverde Glamping & Ecolodge – we’re thrilled to welcome you to Tortuguero!
Below you’ll find all the essential information to help you prepare for your visit and make the most of your stay.
Valverde is located inside Tortuguero National Park and is only accessible by boat. Here’s everything you need to know in advance to plan your trip step by step:

🅿️ Parking in La Pavona

If you’re driving, we recommend parking at a trusted partner facility in La Pavona:

The lot is managed by a third-party company and offers 24/7 security, restrooms, and direct access to the boat dock.

🚤 Boat Transfer from La Pavona to Valverde

If you book your boat ticket through our website, your transfer includes transportation all the way to Valverde’s private dock, with no need to coordinate additional taxis.

This is the most convenient and direct option.

🛶 Free Transfers to/from Tortuguero Village (for guests)

Once you’re staying at Valverde, we offer free boat transfers between the lodge and the village of Tortuguero at the following times:

* 15:00
* 17.00
Outside of these hours, you may use a local water taxi for $4 per person (one way). Our team at the reception can assist you.

🍽️ Frequently Asked Questions

Breakfast: Included and served from 6:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. Includes one menu item per guest. Extra dishes: $10 each.
– If you booked a tour with us that departs at 6:00 a.m., we’ll have coffee or tea and cookies ready for you before departure (around 5:45 a.m.), and you’ll return to the lodge around 8:30 a.m. in time for breakfast.
– If you booked your tour with another company, please make sure they bring you back to the lodge before 9:30 a.m. so you don’t miss breakfast.
– Please note that we do not prepare breakfast to go.

Lunch & Dinner:
We offer lunch and dinner service with a fixed menu.
Meals must be reserved at least one hour in advance.
For the best experience, we kindly encourage guests to pre-order.
You’ll find a QR code in your room to access the menu.
The restaurant serves lunch and dinner daily from 12:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.

Check-in: From 2:00 p.m.
Check-out: By 11:00 a.m.
